It’s our last few days in Brazil and after 5 crazy weeks of travel its time to relax.
There are thousands of beachside towns to choose from. Some for the rich and famous, others a Gringo’s paradise, we decide on less touristy, Ubatuba.
Where hardly an English word is muttered and the Brazilians come on holiday.
During the day we can hire boards and go surfing. It’s facinating to watch the locals. The young boys are either surfing or maneuvering kites in the sky. Fresh fried fish from one of the many kiosks is served to people sitting at tables on the beach. The drink of choice is coconut water or Skol beer.
This beach has interesting sand. When the sun hits it, it shines like gold glitter. And this gold glitter floats around in the water covering bodies in the shiny stuff.
Our last night here is one mixing with locals at a beach kiosk called Ponto13. Out comes the samba music, caiparinhas and we have friends for life. A last moonlight walk on the beach and that makes for an excellent end to our epic adventure.
