Coracovado, where one of the famous landmarks of Rio can be found – the statue of Christ the Redeemer.
I was actually more excited about the tram ride up to the top, it seems essentially Rio to me.
It snakes up between tall trees and occasionally you get a glimpse of the city. If you’re not careful you will slide of your seat the gradient is that steep.
And then there it is, towering above with arms spread in praise. Its quite apt that we approach from behind the statue – I will follow Jesus.
We are fortunate with our timing and are able to take photos with the sun behind the statue as we come round to the front.
And oh my word, the view from here is breathtaking.
End the day with a bit of sushi from Lapamaki – amazing.
