Next planned destination, La Paz. First decision – bus or minibus. We decided on a minibus as it fitted in better with our schedule. We’re South African and can handle anything. So into the minibus with 8 local Bolivians, bags on top. An hour in, we are ordered in Spanish to get out and onto a ferry, separate to our minibus.
This was in order to cross the lake. Here we saw a lovely alpaca dressed for the Christmas holidays.
Back into the minibus and along the route we saw incredible views of montains covered in snow.
The craziest was when we drove through snow. Its summer in Bolivia, what’s up with that? Eventually we hit the outskirts of La Paz. The driving is crazy like Beyonce (an Elsafication). Cars, buses and taxis come from all directions and slowly weave their way to their destination. We then got dropped in a taxi rank and had to catch a station wagon taxi to our hostel. We are here, it was epic.
